In the June BOD Meeting, the Cal North Board of Directors approved updating the Cal North Registration PIM (10-1). The update affects the minimum number of players required to activate a roster. The new minimum number of players required to be assigned to a team prior to that team being activated is now one.
The changes are outlined below:
PIM 10-1 Section 6bii:
Minimum roster: No team shall be allowed to have less than (7) (1) registered players at any given time.
Emi – when would this be applicable? I see this being a way to roster players as teams of 1 at at a lower level than they really play and then having them guest play “up”. With the number of allowed guest players increasing, this is worrisome. What am I missing?

This is currently in place in Affinity. That’s a possibility. I don’t think you’e missing anything. One of the intentions was to provide flexibility for for high school seniors that are affected by the birth year mandate. With the new minimum, clubs have the ability to create U19 teams with less then 7 players in order for those players to be used as guest players with U18 teams when those U18 teams play in U19 events.
