Recapping Recent Training Sessions

Thank you to everyone who attended our training sessions! We had a wonderful time seeing our beautiful state, and meeting all of you.

The feedback we received from those in attendance was extremely valuable, and most importantly the polls after each session that gauged how people felt about the new system confirmed that we are on the right track. It was a welcomed sight to see entire rooms agree that this new system is something they liked, and something that will work for their leagues and clubs.

The common feedback we received from registrars was that they were excited about the potential of the new system, and found the training very valuable. Registrars are looking forward to getting their user accounts in January of 2017 to officially kick off our launch in the new system, and work with real registration data.

We’ve learned many valuable lessons over the years, and this transition not only includes a system that meets the needs of our users, but also includes some important revisions to our policy on registration. All of those in attendance received a copy of our new policy on registration that was approved at the beginning of this month. The new policy is available on the Cal North website as well.

Our new policy was revised to make registration flexible for registrars, and to match the workflows in our new system. The result is a simplified registration process, making it easier to register players, assign players to teams, activate those teams, print passes and rosters, and reassign players to other teams. One additional new option is to also register your non-Cal North members in our system free of charge.

We highly encourage our registrars, as well as league and club administrators to read this  new policy. A thorough understanding of its contents will make a registrars’ life a happier one!

Preparing for Your Registration Training Session

We are thrilled to see so much excitement around the new system, and are happy to announce we have nearly 200 people who have confirmed they will be attending one of the eight training sessions that begin next week. If you haven’t signed up, it’s not too late. Sign up to let us know you are coming so we can ensure that we have space available for you, and that we have all materials and user accounts necessary for the training session prepared.

For those already registered to attend a training session, we wanted to provide some info on what to expect and how to prepare for the big day.

First, this is an active hands on training session that is three hours long. It will be a combination of a presentation and overview of the system, guided walk throughs of various tasks, and also hands on exercises.

With that said, you will need a laptop with WiFi capability. Please make sure to bring one with you in addition to a notebook and pen. With so many people registered to attend, we highly recommend that anyone with a hotspot bring that device with them as well. Lastly, access to an outlet may not be ideal, so we encourage everyone to fully charge all of their devices before arriving.

We ask that everyone try to arrive 15-30 minutes before their scheduled training session so that we can check you in. If you are running late, please make sure to stop after the training session and check in.

This is also a great opportunity for everyone to network as well. We hope that the Cal North registration community continues growing and are looking forward to seeing you in person.
